Connection Issue

The newly purchased sensor can’t connect to the main unit.
Correct connection steps:
1.Power on the weather station;
2.Set the channel of the main unit to CH1;
3.Set the channel of the sensor to CH1;
4.Power on the sensor.


Please notice:
When powering on the sensor, the red LED indicator flashes twice, if not, then the sensor is broken, and we will provide a new sensor for you.
If the red LED indicator flashes, but it cannot be connected to the main unit, then we will replace the main unit and sensor to you.
Please ensure that the battery has enough power. It is recommended to use all fresh alkaline batteries to ensure battery life.

Reason: When powering on the sensor, it will automatically sent signals(the red LED indicator flashes twice). If the sensor is powered on before the main unit is powered on, the main unit will miss the signals sent by the sensor. And it takes another 2 to 3 minutes for the sensor to send signals again. Please wait patiently.

The sensor loses connection to the main unit after using for a period of time.

Reason: Probably it’s because the sensor is placed outdoor, and it has reached the end of its lifespan. Alternatively, the batteries inside the sensor may have run out of power.


Troubleshooting Steps:


1.Replace the batteries of the sensor and try connecting again. It is recommended to use all fresh alkaline batteries.


2.Check if the red LED indicator of the sensor flashes.


3.Place the sensor next to the main unit and wait for an hour and connect again to see if it can be connected successfully. If not, then we will replace a new sensor to you.

Sensor keeps disconnecting intermittently.

Reason: 1) Signal issues; 2) The main unit is in circular channels mode. Troubleshooting Steps:

1.The distance between the sensor and the main unit should be within 50 meters;

2.Check if there are any devices or materials around the sensor that can interfere with the signal; e.g.: Some clients place their sensors on the balcony or outside the window, once they close the window, the signal will be cut off immediately, which means the window can interfere with the signal. If so, it is recommended to relocate the sensor to another position and try again. If you have no other place to place the sensor, then we could provide a refund.

3.Place the sensor next to the main unit to see if the connection fails. Or relocate the sensor to shorten the distance between the sensor and main unit to see if the connection fails. If the signal improves significantly, then there is for sure some devices or materials that can interfere with the signal at the former place of the sensor.  

4.Please place the sensor next to the main unit and take a picture and send it to us. It is likely that you have accidentally set to the circular channels mode(a circular icon will be displayed on the main unit following the channel icon, it is a circular arrow).

The distance between the sensor and the main unit is relatively short while connecting

Reason: The distance between the sensor and the main unit should be within 100m. It is the ideal connection distance in an open, interference-free environment. In daily life, there are definitely various items next to or in between the main unit and the sensor that can cause certain interference to the signal.


Troubleshooting Steps:
1.Check the distance between the sensor and the main unit while connecting.
2.Change the location of the sensor or the main unit to see if the connection can be successful.

The data detected is not accurate.

The temperature readings are not accurate, but within an acceptable margin of error. Reason: Both our main unit and sensor have a temperature deviation of 1 Celsius degree. Therefore, if the main unit and sensor are placed together, the temperature difference between them will be within 2 Celsius degrees, which is considered normal.

Explain to the client that every device has a certain level of measurement deviation, and our deviation falls within the industry standard. We are also committed to continuously seeking more cost-effective and accurate temperature sensing modules.

The temperature readings are not accurate and fall outside the acceptable margin of error.

Reason:

1.The temperature sensing module is broken;

2.The sensor is placed under direct sunlight or other heat sources;

3.Water in the temperature sensing module;

4.The main unit connected to other sensors(maybe the sensor close to the house or from the neighbor).

Troubleshooting Steps:

First, confirm the location of the sensor and explain to the client that the sensor cannot be exposed to direct sunlight or rain because the temperature will be higher of the sensor under direct sunlight.

Second, confirm with the client where did he/she get the real temperature, from the weather forecast in the professional local weather forecast service or other devices. If the weather forecast is obtained from other devices, then there is certain deviation of the temperature data as well.

Finally, ask the client to place the main unit and the sensor together, and change the set channel. Leave it for over an hour to see if the temperature changes to normal level. If you have tried the above steps and the temperature still have a relatively large deviation from the real temperature, then we will replace a new sensor to you.

The temperature readings do not change.

Reason:

The temperature sensing module got stuck.   Troubleshooting Steps: Use a hairdryer to dry the sensor and see if the temperature readings change. Remove all the power supply of the weather station and leave it for 30 minutes before powering it on again. And see if the temperature readings change. If the above troubleshooting steps do not solve the problem, then we will replace the sensor for you.

The moisture readings are not accurate, but within an acceptable margin of error.

Reason:

The moisture deviation of our weather station is 5%. Therefore, if the main unit and sensor are placed together, a difference in moisture within a range of 10% is considered normal. Explain to client, if he/she cannot accept it, then we can provide a refund.

The moisture readings are not accurate and fall outside the acceptable margin of error.

Reason:

1.The moisture module is broken;

2.The environment where the sensor is placed is too humid or close to heat sources;

3.Water in moisture module.  

Troubleshooting Steps:

Please confirm the environment where the sensor is placed. Make sure it is not exposed to rain or heat sources. If the sensor is placed in an uncovered open area with high humidity, or if it has rained, which may lead to the inaccurate moisture readings and damage the sensor. If the humidity is too high, the we recommend you to dry it with a hairdryer and then reconnect it to see if it gets to normal.

If the above troubleshooting steps do not solve the problem, then we will replace the sensor for you.

The moisture readings do not change.

Reason:

The moisture module got stuck.   Troubleshooting Steps: Use a hairdryer to dry the sensor and see if the moisture readings change. Remove all the power supply of the weather station and leave it for 30 minutes before powering it on again. And see if the moisture readings change. If the above troubleshooting steps do not solve the problem, then we will replace the sensor for you.  

The weather forecast is not accurate.

Reason:

Please note that our weather forecasts are based on the barometric pressure and temperature changes with an accuracy of approximately 80%. Moreover, since the model of this set is wireless, so it cannot be compared with weather forecasts obtained from satellites. Please allow the weather station to run for a month to learn about the barometric pressure and temperature changes so that it can calculate the weather forecast better. Besides, the device is designed with a weather forecast calibration function, and you can calibrate the real weather manually to help it learn quicker of the local weather conditions. It’s also important for you to confirm the installation altitude of the device because the barometric value may not change if the altitude is too high, which will result in an inaccurate weather forecast.

Steps to manually calibrate the weather forecasts:

1.Press and hold the “SET” button to enter setting mode;

2.Press the “SET” for multiple times until the weather icon flashes, and press “▲” or “▼” to switch the weather icons. Press “SET” button to confirm the weather icon set and get back to home page.

The barometric values are not accurate.

Reason:

1.The measure deviation is 7hpa.

2.The barometric pressure value detected by our weather station is the actual altitude pressure, not the sea level pressure or the average city pressure, because the altitude pressure will decrease if the altitude increases. For every 100m altitude increases, the barometric pressure will decrease 12hpa.

3.The barometric pressure module is broken.

Troubleshooting Steps:

Please tell us the installation altitude of the device. The barometric pressure you obtain from internet or radio is sea level pressure or average city pressure. Because the radio won’t broadcast the barometric pressure of all the altitudes, we need to check the actual altitude barometric pressure for you according to the altitude you live.

NOTE: If the altitude you reside is beyond the altitude range of the device, the barometric pressure will remain to the lowest value or doesn’t display at all. If you have to use this device in an altitude between 1500m-2000m, we can provide a refund.

Time and date inaccurate.

Reason:

1.The RCC function is not turned on;

2.The time zone was not set correctly;

3.The client’s address is far from America or Germany so they cannot receive the radio signal;

4.The RCC module is broken and cannot receive the radio signal.

Troubleshooting Steps:

Check the order number and product model first, and then check the country and city of the client. Because in Europe, the radio signals are only available in Germany, there is a possibility that customers living far away from Germany may not receive the radio signals. If they do not live far away from Germany, then confirm with the client if the RCC function is on and the time zone is correctly set.

Correct steps to set the time and date:

a.359-moon phase

Troubleshooting Steps:

Check the order number and product model first, and then check the country and city of the client. Because in Europe, the radio signals are only available in Germany, there is a possibility that customers living far away from Germany may not receive the radio signals. If they do not live far away from Germany, then confirm with the client if the RCC function is on and the time zone is correctly set.

Correct steps to set the time and date:

1.Press and hold the “SET” button and the screen will display “ON” if the RCC function is turned on and if it displays “OFF” then the RCC function is not turned on.

2.Please switch by pressing the “▲” or “▼” button. Press the “SET” button and the screen will display “00”, which means the time zone(from -12H to +12H) of the city. Clients should set the correct zone according to the city he/she lives in by pressing the “▲” or “▼” button.

3.Press the “SET” button for multiple times to go back to home page.

4.3Press the “RCC” button to enter RCC receiving mode. It takes about 5 to 7 minutes to finish receiving the RCC radio signal. After the signal is received successfully, it will automatically exit the RCC receiving mode. If the time zone is in America, we should confirm whether the DST is turned on. If it is turned on, the screen will display “DST ON”, if not, it will result in an hour deviation to the real time. If the client has finished the above troubleshooting steps and set the RCC function correctly, but still cannot adjust to the correct time, we can offer a new replacement.

b.359-three sensors

1.Press the “SET” button until it enters the setting mode.

2.Press the “SET” for multiple times until it displays “ON” or “OFF”. If it’s “ON” then the RCC function is on, if it’s “OFF” then the RCC function is off. Please switch by pressing the “▲” or “▼” button.

3.Press the “SET” button and the screen will display “00”, which means the time zone(from -12H to +12H) of the city. Clients should set the correct zone according to the city he/she lives in by pressing the “▲” or “▼” button.

4.Press the “SET” button for multiple times to go back to home page.

5.Press the “RCC” button to enter RCC receiving mode. It takes about 5 to 7 minutes to finish receiving the RCC radio signal. After the signal is received successfully, it will automatically exit the RCC receiving mode. If the time zone is in America, we should confirm whether the DST is turned on. If it is turned on, the screen will display “DST ON”, if not, it will result in an hour deviation to the real time. If the client has finished the above troubleshooting steps and set the RCC function correctly, but still cannot adjust to the correct time, we can offer a new replacement.

The backlight cannot be turned off.

Reason:

The main unit of 359 models are powered on by AC adapters. So the backlight cannot be turned off. It is not recommended to install the main unit in the bedroom, otherwise the backlight may affect your sleep.

The screen has a limited viewing angle.

Reason:

Although the 359 models are designed with colored screen, the viewing angle is the same as the 340/341 models. So we do not recommend you to install it too high. Instead, install it in a place with your line of sight, which will make it convenient for you to easily set the weather station and for view the data whenever necessary.  

The screen cannot be operated for several minutes every other hour in a certain period of hours for each day.(models 341/340, with RCC function)

Reason: The device will automatically receive RCC signals every day. During the receiving time, the device cannot be operated unless manually exit the RCC receiving mode. The signal receiving time in Europe are at 1 am, 2 am, 3 am, 4 am and 5 am every day and the time in America are at 7 am, 8 am, 9 am, 10 am and 11 am every day.

The screen only shows brightness without any display./The screen briefly displays and then flashes back.

Reason: The device is damaged. Troubleshooting Steps: Please provide us some pictures or a video for us to check the problem. And then we will offer a new replacement to you.

Can your weather station be connected with multiple sensors?

All of our non-WiFi weather stations can be connected with three sensors. And the models 340/341 can connect to two additional sensors, in addition to the one that is included. But if you want to view the data of the other two channels, you have to manually switch the channel displayed on screen or set to the circular channels mode, which will display the data of the three channels circularly.

Can your sensors and weather stations be compatible with those of other brands?

Our products’ signals receiving channel is 433mhz. We cannot ensure that our products can be compatible with those of other brands, so please purchase carefully.

The products are damaged./Accessories are missing.

Please provide us your Amazon order number and the picture of products you received for us to check. If something is indeed broken or missing, we will provide a new replacement.

The high/low temperature alert keeps ringing(359-2/359-3 models)

Reason:

The high/low temperature alert of the 359-2/359-3 models cannot be turned off or adjusted. But the high/low temperature alert of the 359-moon phase/359-three sensors models can be turned off and you can adjust the high/low temperature value of which you want it to ring alerts.  

Troubleshooting Steps: Confirm with the model first. If the model is 359-2/359-3, apologize to the client and inform them that we have models that can turn off the high/low temperature alert and we can upgrade the model to 359-moon phase to the client. If the model is 359-moon phase/359-three sensors, then tell the client how to turn off the alert and adjust the high/low temperature alert value.

Correct steps to check and adjust the high/low temperature alert value(same for the 359-moon phase/359-three sensors models): Press the “MEM” button to check the value, press the “▲” or “▼” to adjust the value. Press the “MEM” button for multiple times to turn off the alert.

The button battery can not provide power.

Reason: The button battery is only for storing data, and it cannot provide power to run the unit. Explain to the client that the 359 models are powered by AC adapters and the button battery is only for storing data. For example, when there is a blackout in home, the button battery can help store the time, date and parameters set in the unit, so when the power is back, there is no need to set again.

The words “12+ hour forecast” and “moon phase” does not have backlight on.

Reason: The words “12+ hour forecast” and “moon phase” are silk-screen, they will be visually clear no matter the power is on or off. This is not a defect.
