After plugged in, the screen will go dim/dark while in WWVB atomic receiving mode. Meanwhile, the projection will automatically be off as well. 
Our clock searches for WWVB signals at initial setup & several times a day, each lasts up to 7 minutes with the antenna symbol flashing on the screen. 
After the searching completes, the backlight brightness will come back on, and all functionalities, including projection display, will resume. 
You may press & hold the "RCC" button to exit RCC receiving mode anytime.
WWVB ATOMIC TIME

 

This Atomic Clock receives its RCC signals in WWVB, the radio-controlled automatic time and date updates are super convenient and compatible with Daylight Saving Time. Just choose your time zones (PST/MST/CST/EST) with DST turned on.

TIME MEMORY FUNCTION

FAQ

Is this truly atomic?

Yes, when you plug it in it searches and then connects. I did have to change the time zone but so far clock has worked great

I love this clock but for some reason the projection will turn itself off and back on again several times during the day and night. Why?

Do you mean the screen or the projected display being on & off? It is normal to see the screen goes dark (3% brightness) during the WWVB signal receiving period. There are several times during the day the radio signals are broadcasted, hence the screen will go dark but will go back to normal when the receiving is over.

How do you change the time zone?

Atomic Clocks may also be set manually and be very accurate. Simply insert the battery, press your time zone and then press the flap just above the left side of the battery. Hold until you reach the correct time and then release.
